The Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy television series that has been running on the Showcase network for five seasons. The series was created by Guy Ferland who said in The Seattle Times that "Imagine, if you will, the most ambitious, epic adventure you can create. And then find someone else with the vision and talent to help bring it to life." Ferland also said that he wanted to create "a story that would be bigger than any TV show I've ever worked on." The show started out as a book series, called "The Staff of Light" which was published in 1991. It is a series of four novels written by Raymond E. Feist and is about a man named Richard who is on a quest for freedom, peace and equality in the country of Midkemia. He has an amulet called "The Oracle" which gives him power. Raymond E. Feist said in The Seattle Times that "the stories are fantasy but the moral mores are very much like our own." How Many Episodes Are There? There are forty-one episodes in all with some being directed by some big names in television including Anna Foerster who directed some episodes of "Supernatural". She directed four episodes while other notable directors include James A. Contner, Michael Grossman, Peter Ellis Berkrot, Mike Rohl, T. J. Scott, Kate Woods, Fred Gerber and Bill L. Norton. Three directors have won Emmy Awards for their directing work on The Legend of the Seeker, Peter Ellis Berkrot got his in 2009 for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for his work on episode "Enter the Void". Peter Ellis Berkrot also directed "Necropolis" the episode where he won the award. Mike Rohl won in 2010 for Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series for his work on "Death Before Dishonor". Mike Rohl also directed "Confessor" which is the episode that he won an Emmy Award for. James A. Contner won the 2011 Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series for his work on episode "Trial By Fire". Four other directors also won an Emmy Award for their work on The Legend of the Seeker. They are Bill L. Norton in 2009, Kate Woods in 2011, Mike Rohl in 2010 and T. J.
